Scholarship Info

Each applicant should have at least a cumulative GPA of 2.5, be a Full-Time Student, attend a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) and be in your 3rd (48+ qualified passing Credits), 4th or 5th year of your Undergraduate program. Our scholarship requires that the scholarship candidate apply for Federal Student Aid, so it is recommended that applicants complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Applications for The Luther Vandross Foundation Scholarship are considered based on their completed application, along with a Last Dollar, need basis review. Once a student completes the application, and if you are deemed a Finalist, you will be notified and if you are deemed a WINNER, you and your current HBCU will be notified and the combined information will be used to match you to an available scholarship. All Luther Vandross Foundation Scholarships are administered by The Luther Vandross Foundation, with a range amount of $500.00 to $5,000.

The Luther Vandross Foundation scholarship is made through the designated school and are not transferable to other academic institutions (we do not cover winter, or summer semesters). The funds are to be used for tuition, or tuition based fees only and may not be used for other costs on the recipient’s bursar bill, or be used for refunds.

The Luther Vandross Foundation will review all online applications and select final candidates on the basis of:
